Topic: Identify Your Confirmation Bias

We all experience confirmation bias from time to time; power comes to those who become aware of this bias and address it. After you complete the readings in the Confirmation Bias module, think about a time when confirmation bias may have affected your response to a particular situation or information.

Answer the following questions to complete this assignment:

1. Define confirmation bias in your own words
2. Explain a time in your own life when you think confirmation bias played a role in your thinking or decision-making process (in everyday or academic life)
3. In the personal example you just explained, how could you have changed your approach to get new information (rather than simply reinforcing your existing ideas/beliefs)?
