Learning Standard for Today: 6.NS.B.4 Find the greatest common factor of two whole numbers less than or equal
to 100 and the least common multiple of two whole numbers less than or equal to
12. Use the distributive property to express a sum of two whole numbers 1–100
with a common factor as a multiple of a sum of two whole numbers with no common
factor. For example, express 36 + 8 as 4 (9 + 2).
Today we will be using the GCF and the distributive property. We are tying those 2 skills together. Use whichever method for GCF you like. I'm going to be showing the cake method because I think more of you are probably using that method.

Independent Practice
Go to Quizizz and complete the GCF and the Distributive Property assignment. Remember from the video lesson. You are finding the GCF and then putting it on the outside of the parentheses. Ex: Find the GCF of 8 and 20. You find 4 is the GCF so you write 4(2 +5) because 4 x 2 =8 and 4x 5=20.
